Leaning on intuition

Day 9

“Listen to the wind, it talks. Listen to the silence, it speaks. Listen to your heart, it knows.” Native American Proverb

One of the things that draws me to meditation is the idea of quieting the mind. After several attempts of getting passed the "How much longer will I sit in silence?", I began to see that if nothing else, the process was calming. We are all used to constant outward stimulation. More often than not, we make time for the outside noise, rather than truly taking time for ourselves. In quieting our minds in meditation (whatever form you find best), you start to tap into your voice, your spirit, and you make space to hear yourself.

I believe when you can really hear yourself, you make space for a stronger connection to your intuition. When you are in tune with who you are, it's like being on a channel without static. What you hear is more coherent, and you make decisions with more clarity. You can then begin to decipher if your actions are based on fear or love. Our intuition speaks to us in many ways. It requires that we are listening to our minds, spirit, and body. It is as simple as a strong feeling in your body to turn instead of walking down a dark alley, or the optimism and lightness you feel when synchronicities occur to validate a choice you are pondering.

Some of the best decisions are made when we are tuned in. There are time's when we get out of tune or choose not to listen and say "I should have trusted my gut!" Hindsight is 20/20. We all can look back on moments where we "just knew" and we followed that knowing, or when we decided not to trust it

I'm intent on continuing to take moments to quiet my mind, allowing my truth to guide me and intuition to flow.

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." Albert Einstein
